Spring and summer belong to my mother, while autumn and winter belong to my husband. What is left for me? Persephone, the goddess of the harvest, spends half of the year underground with her husband, the king of the dead, and the other half on earth with her mother. This arrangement has been in place for nine thousand years since the deal was made. However, when she emerges this spring, everything feels different.

The lands are being battered by rains, crops are growing out of season or not at all, and there are people attempting to construct a road through the woods. She joins a group of activists and protests alongside them. Seeing the world from the treetops alongside activist Snow, she realizes that she has the power to make choices for herself for the first time.

No Season but the Summer reinvents a classic myth, exploring what happens when our oldest stories no longer serve us and when the rules have all changed. Ultimately, it delves into the theme of choice, questioning the impact of Persephone's decisions on her mother, her husband, and the new life growing inside her.
